Writing for Range and Versatility |
The writer communicates effectively in a variety of formats and genres, for diverse audiences, and for a number of purposes, revealing grade appropriate depth of
knowledge.
| Mastery is evident when the student:
--draws connections between different areas of knowledge, --composes for a variety of purposes (to explain, inform, describe, persuade, or narrate) and in a variety of formats and genres, --uses techniques that require the reader to make inferences about the writer's theme ("show, don't tell," analogies, metaphors, etc.)
