THE PILOT

If the land of LOBSTO’ still existed both people and lobster would still talk about one man, and his adventures. This man was a great dragon pilot, and was a great hero to all races. This mans name was sir rouge.

People say sir rouge had eyes better than that of a hawk and reflexes better than that of a cat. They say he was so calm under combat he never even sweat, and that his endurance was so good he could be shot by a crossbow in the head and not fall. This is the story of his greatest adventure.

In the years of prelude to the lobster wars sir rouge served in the airforce of the land lobsto’ and was considered the best pilot in the world. One night came a message from the lobster kingdom. The message was a desperate one. Apparently the land of the lobster was being raided by evil flying snoopergoops today known as slugs. But in those times slugs were smart and had mastered the art of flying. Anyway, the message called for reinforcement, as the lobsters could not hold out long on their own.

“Let us go help the noble lobster!” shouted rouge who seemed to have abandoned the annoying mid-evil voice of the day. “NOITH!” cried back his comrades who had apparently not. The other flyers had good reason to say this too. Not only were the snoopergoops known for there deadliness in combat, the weather was also getting stormy, very unfit for dragon flying. But this did not stop rouge and he exclaimed “if you are cowards I shall help my friend, that of the noble lobster myself!” So he climbed up upon his dragon and took off into the stormy night.

The night grew worse as rouge flew farther, but he did not turn back. He would dodge every bolt of lightning quicker than it would strike, and he would maintain control even throughout the gusting winds. Soon he came within sight of the besieged lobster kingdom, and noticed how desperately outnumbered he was. Very few lobsters remained fighting, most had retreated to the underwater section of their homeland. However rouge did not turn back.

A swarm of snoopergoops suddenly swooped down upon rouge and his dragon. However they could not touch him. He maneuvered onto each ones tail and his faithful dragon opened up fire upon them. After hours of deadly battle rouge had destroyed much of the dreaded enemy and the rest retreated realizing the power of their foe.

As the storm settled and daylight broke, formerly retreating lobster came about of their hiding place and cheered rouge, and with a mighty roar from his dragon, and a smile on his face he flew back home.

Nobody quite knows the fate of rouge. When the lobster wars broke out, he, not wanting to fight his old friends, flew away from civilization never to be seen again. Some say however that if you listen carefully every now and then you can still hear the mighty roar of his dragon, and maybe even see him fly overhead.
